Yes, seriously... I will play drums for your shows and do any recording, at no charge. Simply for the joy of getting your music out there again. 20 years of experience, live shows, some touring experience, studio recording, pro gear, dependable, etc. The whole deal.
This offer can be redeemed whenever!
here's hoping,

I certainly hope that she comes onto the website at least once a month or so, for two different reasons:
- I would kill to hear more studio tracks from Extraordinary Popular Delusions....
- It's nearing Halloween, and the Halloween costumes she's had for the past few years have effing amazing.
Alas, I don't know if Janet'll take you up on the drumming offer. It would be sweet if something came of it, but keep in mind that Janet has an actual job that probably pays more consistently than being a musician ever did.
Although, that's really just conjecture. I'd kill to see Janet either do more shows (Gives me an excuse to get out of Florida for a few days...) or to go back in the studio to record more stuff, but I don't know if that's in the pipeline.
But, who the hell am I to make these statements. Maybe I'm wrong. One way to find out...

Janet, I miss you. I'm still waiting to see Extraordinary Popular Delusions released as you visioned it. I miss going to your shows and the Tribe shows, the pulsing anticipation during an opening act, the smells, the crunch of an oversold venue, all of it. The drummer offer dude....you're okay, man. I hope Janet takes you up on it. Odd......I have had a couple of dreams where I actually drummed for Tribe. I've never played an instrument and can't figure it out, but I remember being so pumped and terrified. Here's to seeing Extraordinary Popular Delusions (and the madness of crowds) coming to record store near you soon!

Ha, thanks. The truth of the matter is that I play out of the love for it, and being a "veteran" myself, I know how hard it is for a solo artist to "build a band" for shows, etc. It can be a major chore. In a few cases, for various smaller (and unknown) solo artists I've played with, I've actually served as a sort of "music director", in the sense that I've taken on the duty of putting together a really good, solid band--capable of learning material quickly and thoroughly, and capable of rocking a live show!
Do I think Janet would actually take me up on this offer? Nah. But you never know. I'm just offering my services to remove at least one potential obstacle. Anything to help the cause and to bring her music back into the limelight, so to speak. I would consider it an honor to drive that bus.
It's amazing how this site has re-kindled a passion for Tribe's (& Janet's) music. It's a great thing. And, with all of the reunions we've seen over the past few years (Big Dipper? Wow!) perhaps they'll get an itch to play. What a warm welcome they'd receive if they were to book a couple shows at The Paradise, for example...I guarantee it would sell out quickly.
There was nobody that Tribe sounded like, and nobody took over their sound when they left the scene.
Here's hoping!
