Thanks, glad you liked it. I haven't got to check it out yet but maybe Santa will bring me Rock band for Xmas this year. PS, I'm sure the drum tracks were the highlight of the game

I gotta say ... that I couldn't agree more with the author. The song outside is amazing. I've been up for 5 hours doing search's for this song in a mp3 form so I can play it without actually playing the rock band game.
As far as the drum part goes, I've never been a drumer in my bands do to poor feet and hand coordination, but I found it to be very enjoyable and I'm still try'n to get it down on expert mode =P lawl.
I'm actually sad that the first time I heard this song was in a video game. However, I'm very happy that I was put into that game. I can't wait to start picking apart the bass and guitar riffs so I can play it with my band in jam sessions. I dont suppose anyone has some guitar tabs for the song handy to make my life a little easier? =P
Again awesome song,

I know the Rock Bank thread has been going on for months now but I gotta add my huge congratulations and THANK YOU! I got Rock Bank for my 13 year-old for Xmas and its taken us this long to crack the game to release additional songs (Electronics Arts is INSANE for not including all Tribe tracks as part of the game disc). Imagine my surprise when 'Outside' pops up! Not only is it an awesome song on the game (and yes Dave, my seven-year old thinks the drum tracks ROCK!) - your music has awakened a whole part of me that I haven't thought about for years! Yes, I know that's lame but what can I say? I'm 41 now, with three kids, and a big mortgage. My old crew has since scattered and most of us don't live in Boston anymore. But when we did, we caught all your shows in Kenmore Square (Bunratty's, Paradise, The Rat) and once even trekked up to Lynn for a show (that's saying alot - Lynn was a different country for us at the time).
Whatever you guys are doing now, know that one of your many contributions was being an indelible part of your fans' memories.
Rock on!!!

Outside on Rock Band was the first time I'd ever heard Tribe, and I'm finding it to my ear to be one of the finest songs in the entire game. So much so, in fact, that I've scoured the internet trying to buy a copy of Abort. Unfortunately, I'm unable to shell out hundreds of dollars for a copy.
I've downloaded other Tribe songs, and I like them all - which is saying something considering how picky I can be.
I'm hoping that there is some sort of re-release or some other mechanism for bringing this awesome music in its full splendor to those of us who are new to Tribe's sound and crave more.

I just checked Amazon and they have a few used copies of Abort at a reasonable price. It is shocking how much Abort is going for Used on Amazon. There is a copy going for $350.00, one for $100.00 and one for $50.00. There are two copies for under $10.00 before shipping and another copy for $19.98. Who would pay $350.00 for any CD? I'm sure that if I asked they would not have a problem with me making both CD's available for download, although I feel everyone should buy the CD's. Maybe when they are all gone I will upload the files. There are tons of copies of Sleeper on Amazon for cheap money.

aieeee now i have to get rock band.
outside was always one of my favorite tribe songs, though i must admit i loved them all. but yeah. outside was (and still is) a favorite to sing along to while driving. tribe's always been great driving music for me.
don't know if eric/terri/greg read these forums, and even if they do they probably don't remember me but i have some truly wonderful memories of hanging out with you guys in NJ and philly. in NJ eric and terri came over to my office to see our little tribe web page (this was before there was much on "the web") and in philly we all went out to a scotch bar! it was awesome.
tribe continues to be one of my favorite bands ever and the music continues to be a big presence in my life. Can't say that for most music I listened to back then!

Outside is By far my favorite song to play on Rock Band. The animation on the background really fits the song perfectly. The guitar is awesome and I love the vocals.
In the process of downloading the MP3s now.
Hope to see more songs on GH4 or in DLC (downloadable content)
If you haven't played Guitar Hearo or Rock Band you are truly missing out. My son and I spent 10 hours playing together over the weekend. If you are looking for a family video game this is surely a winner.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but yes agreed! I heard this song and figured it must have been some newer band I'd never heard of. After searching on iTunes, Amazon, and Ruckus without success I became quite confused until I looked you up on wikipedia and found this great site! I have to say your music is excellent! I can't believe that it would be so hard to find your music considering just how fantastic it is (especially considering the time period it was made). I'm glad you decided to include one of your tracks in the game, otherwise there is no way I would have ever found you!

Rock Band was my first exposure to Tribe as well. It just sucks that Oustide is such an old song. I'd love to buy the Here at The Home CD. But I've only seen it one place and it's selling for $100 used!!! Crazy.
Oh well. At least I can download the MP3. Outside is a great song. Too bad Tribe never made it big.
How did Outside end up on Rock Band anyway?

How did Outside end up on Rock Band anyway? Both Greg & Eric from Tribe now work at Harmonix.

Oh man... I just got a PS3, I wasn't going to spend the money on Rock Band since I have Guitar Hero for the PS2... But that alone is enough incentive.
I wonder if they'll release any other tracks for download... I'd have an instant Tribegasm if they did Vigil, Joyride, or Abort! I know, it'll never really happen. But hey, at least that one track will open some eyes to one of the greatest bands around.

I would love to play Easter Diner, Joyride, Smile and Sleeper on Rock Band, maybe we'll get more Tribe love in RB2.
