What other things would you like to see on this website?

First of all, thank you very much for putting this site together. I unfortunately got turned onto Tribe after their demise, and I'm really kicking myself for having missed it. I've been trying to learn more about the band and its members for a couple years now, but there's hardly a wealth of information out there. And, I'm pretty sure I'll never find a satisfactory answer to why they weren't as acclaimed as they should have been. I'm listening to both discs right now, and even 10-15 years later they still hold up. Beautiful, beautiful albums.
So as not to veer off-topic, do I understand correctly that there was an actual video produced? If anyone has it, I'd LOVE to check it out. I never had the pleasure/fortune of seeing Tribe live, and this would definitely do as a surrogate.
Thanks again for the site. I sincerely appreciate it.

I do believe Tribe made some videos. I have not seen any myself, I would like to. I know that they also appeared on Conan O'Brien's show after Sleeper came out, and they did Supercollider on the show. If anyone has copies of the videos I would really like to see them. Or if anyone has more info as to how many videos where made and for what songs I would love to share that information on the website.

Tribe did a video for Joyride - it aired a few times on 120 Minutes. I believe they also did a video for Supercollider. I also remember the Conan performance... it was on Halloween night, if I remember correctly. I too would love to see any of these.

Hi there. When I lived in Boston back in the day I LOVED Tribe and saw them many times. I had Here at the Home on cassette but it has long bit the dust. (I don't even have a cassette player anymore!) Will it ever be released in CD??!?!?!?!? Thanks.

Carol, Here at the Home was released on CD, but I'm sure it's long out of print.
I wonder if some of the older songs (that were played at the Rumble) made it onto demos and if they exist. Go, Speed, Stevie....nice songs.
Maybe we can convince the powers that be to release a "best of", with all the unreleased material? I'm sure there would be good interest in it.

I'm sad I missed the CD release. Thanks for the info, Paul. Perhaps we can convince those same powers that be to release it into a download like iTunes or the like.

I agree. Please share it if you got it! Flood is one of my favorite producers. In fact, if someone might make that disc available in mp3, I have some stuff that I would be happy to share. (I'd be happy to share it either way, but I was retaining it in case someone had other material that they were only willing to trade).
my email is gainber (at) sbc.edu

I just bought some Tribe CD's through Amazon. I will let you know what condition they are in when they arrive.
I have an old tape of Here at the Home that I made from my brothers album. It still plays, which is amazing considering how many times I've played it!
I'd love to see MP3's for download at this site along with any video. I used to date a guy who was a huge Tribe fan... I bet if anyone has them, it's him. His name was Paul... something or other.

I'm sure we would all love to hear it. ;D Someone was nice enough to send me a copy of a cassette with some songs that would have been on Janet's CD. I am not sure if it is just demos or finished mixes. I am real sorry but I cannot make it available here. I am looking into making some Tribe music available for download from this site. I am contacting the members of Tribe for the okay on that.

Steve,
First of all, GREAT job on this site. I've been searching for years for new information on the members of Tribe. Clearly, they were a band that was well before their time who have gone so unappriciated by the mainstream and critics.
I know most bands, at least nowadays usually videotape their gig's to critique later on. I wonder if Tribe did just this and if there are any old "bootleg" video's of past shows that could be made available to the fans?

This site is fantastic! Thankfully my random, periodic searches for ex-TRIBE members paid off when I recently stumbled upon the Holy Grail of Tribe fans...the unreleased demos!!! Many thanks to you and Greg, Eric and Terri for providing them and letting you post 'em for us! The only thing that I could think to add to the site would be if there are any live recordings available for posting...they were always such a dynamic band live...you wouldn't think 'Jakpot' could be any more intense than the studio version...but Man! did Janet ever kick it live...don't know how she kept her voice singing like that!
Best Tribe concert for me was on a boat/nightclub, in Newport...Bob's Big Boat I think it was called...an old rust heap, stuck in the mud, listing several degrees to port, with ceilings so low you'd bump your head jumping to the music...which is what happened! Luckily the floors would buckle a few inches downward to allow for this!
