What will it take to get this group back together to do some appearances. Is it that they just hate each other or what?

You sound so definitive Steve.
What is it that you know that no one else knows?
I tend to feel the same sentiment as the OP - there is some deep wounds and bad blood over the break-up.
Just listening to the last show at the Orpheum there are some shots at the break-up: only mentioning Mike Levesque during a particular jam and on the intro to 'Testify' ( a 'new' song for a bands last concert "interesting isn't it").
And IMHO Janet's "It's Alright With Me" is a catharsis about the band's break up.

Steve:
I really appreciate everything you attempted to get Tribe together - I have to agree it is not going to happen - Reading between the lines I don't think certain people in the band like each other very much. I'm just surprised all the years have not lessened the apparent bad will.
Thanks for everything you do with the site.

Never say never... I wanna start off by saying I always liked John Penzo's very tasteful drumming. He was certainly an integral part of the band; he added a lot of very memorable, catchy riffs to some complex music , which would not have been as good w/out him, but he was replaced at the end, and they kept on going, so I think any problems they may have had in that department were temporarily patched up to some extent . I think he'd do a reunion, but, I don't know if it'd be a dealbreaker one way or the other ( besides, I want that gig ). O.K., Eric and Terri are married, and they work with Greg, so they all tolerate each other ;D , it would seem... So, is the problem between Janet and the Harmonix guys? Yeah, it'll never happen. The problem is there was TOO MUCH TALENT to be contained w/in one band! There were four very strong writers, which always causes problems. And Janet just had so much stage presence, and was so magnetic, it eclipsed everything else, at least in my eyes. Terri was also extremely hot , and had a beautiful voice, and everything, but was always tethered to the keyboards. Hmmmm...would a boycott of Guitar Warrior, or Rock Hero, or whatever put the pressure on those guys? How can working on video games be fullfilling enough to sacrifice any sort of artistic integrity? Steve, feel free to delete this if it offends anybody, I just wanted to stir up the muck up a little. .

I tend to agree with your thoughts. I think Dave would be up for it and I think Greg has posted that he is open to it. I just think Janet, Terri, and Eric need to be on same page. There doesn't seem to be progress on that front in the past 2-3 years and Janet's recent posting have focused on her solo career with no mention of Tribe.

A Tribe reunion is one of my 3 big wishes. I have to say, though, the magic of 20 years ago has passed and people have moved on with their lives (god, it killed me to say that). I disagree that there is still former members that dislike each other. The band broke up and they went their separate ways. I have some amazing memories and music that nobody can ever take. I am happy for the success Harmonix has brought some members. I am happy to hear from Janet and Dave and to know they are doing well. I am happy we have come together here to share stuff and keep the memory of this great band alive. I wish them all the best in whatever they do....they deserve it!

I believe that if the Pixies could get back together and do a tour, then any band could do it. They put on one of the best concerts I have ever seen.
Here is to being optimistic and keep playing Outside on Rock Band.

Good point Ventana - and Dave P has reached out to Janet (as shown in another thread)

looks like its never going to happen. It's a shame but, thats life.
You would think though that with all the bands that hate each other getting back together that we could do it?!? I don't think that any of us hate each other but i wasn't around for the last 8 months. Maybe something happened then but it's sort of impossible to find out. I did hear that Letters to Cleo will be doing a reunion in the near future so you will see me there worshipping Stacy and his drumming godliness! Anyone see him on the Hannah Montanna concert the other night on Disney??

I didn't see Stacy with Hannah, but I saw Kay doing backup vocals with her. I'm glad to see Kay's busy these days. BTW, Stacy's good, but you're just as good. I do have alot of respect for Stacy, I must say. I wanted to give LTC a shot after he joined Veruca Salt, but they grabbed Tom Polce (and I ended up in The Gravy )

Hey Dave, sources close to the case say you're in the E Jct. area. My mom lived there, then in Under...I really miss the drive up there and the early 90s when my car stereo only saw Pixies and Tribe cassettes. Winding around 89 just after sunset listening to Vigil......it didn't get any better. Since my mom passed 10 years ago, I only get up that way every couple years or so. Maybe next time I'll look you up and we can meet at Mr. M's for a slice. That would be cool. Thanks for being involved with the site, too. I hope all is well with you. Take care.

I am indeed in the Ess Jct area, like it here alot, though it does get a little boring.
