To is to Mike who signed the guest book.
Is there any chance you could burn a CD and send it to Steve Latham to load up on this site?
I can't load the player required to view the Stage6 video but would love to see the concert.

To is to Mike who signed the guest book. Is there any chance you could burn a CD and send it to Steve Latham to load up on this site? I can't load the player required to view the Stage6 video but would love to see the concert. I got an e-mail about this a few days ago. I have not even had a chance to watch the video yet. I am not sure how to handle this. From what I understand, it is an entire Tribe show from Avalon Ballroom in Boston. I am thinking that the best thing to do is to embed the video on the video page. Stage6 gives you the option to download the entire concert or watch it. The file is 600+ mb's. I downloaded it and installed the player. If you try to watch it it will take forever because of the size of the file. Unless you have a superfast connection to the net. I don't really want to host the video on my server because of the size of the file. If something happens to Stage6 I will try to figure out another way to make the video available. Stage6 which I have never heard of before seems to be a good place to host it. Song list: a. Miracle Of Sound b.Here at the Home c. Easter Dinner d. Mr. Lieber e. Red Rover f. Daddy's Home g. Supercollider h. Tied i. Sing To Neptune j. Rescue Me k. Dogflower l. Serenade m. Crawl n. Payphone o. Joyride (I Saw the Film) p. Jakpot Q . Roxy Music – Out of the Blue (cover) r. Abort S .Unknown song t. Vigil www.stage6.com/user/massound/video/2232030/Tribe-@-Avalon-divx

Steve - fair enough. I saw that it was 600+mb file and that is a bear to manage.
I'm going to try and download it this weekend, just to have a copy.
It is good to know that there is a full concert video out there though.

Does anyone know if I will be able to burn a divx file onto a DVD so that I can play it on my DVD player? I have not had a DVD burner for that long, and I have not successfully burned any DVD's yet.

Steve, I'm going to download this file tonite (Friday nite) and burn to dvd. I'm pretty experienced with burning dvds but I haven't burnt a divx file yet. Once I figure it out I will post on how to do it.
I'm using Nero to burn my DVDs fyi. I paid maybe $60 for the software & it was a great purchase.
Thank you to Mike! Oh My God what a find this is. I watched the first 2 songs, chills baby! I actually think I most likely was at this show, it's from the later period after they were signed, they were playing less locally so I'm pretty certain that I caught every one of their shows around Boston.
This is what I was hoping for! Live footage of the band! It's as close to a reunion as we can get!

OK I have successfully burnt this to DVD. Steve, I don't know what you are using for software to burn dvds but Nero is great and worked for me.
This show is great. The unknown song listed as S is a cover of the Volcano Suns' White Elephant. I believe around the same time as the band was playing this song the Volcano Suns had just recently broken up. Also it is great to see Dave P playing drums with them! The video from Conan has Mike drumming. And Dave's charm shows when talking to the crowd before he sings White Elephant. This video is a must for any Tribe fan.

Bad news!
Stage6 has been shut down! I managed to see most of the concert but not all of it. I went back to see the rest this morning and the site has been closed.
Hopefully Mike who posted the video up, will see this and hopefully offer to burn DVD's or post it up on another site.

It's too bad that Stage6 is gone. The quality of the videos on there was much better than YouTube. I do have the Live At Avalon file. It is about 618 mb's. If someone knows of another place that I can host it, I am open to any suggestions. I don't really want to host it on my server.

Steve,
i hate to ask you this becasue you do so much already to maintain this terrific site...
But would you consider loading up the concert onto Veho? The sister site to Stage6. That way they video would be accessible and you wouldn't have to stream through your server.
Just a thought.
As an aside the Singing to Neptune on the video was simply fantastic to see.

Do they have a file size limit? I have been real busy at work lately. I was going to look into the different video hosting sites to see what is the best option as soon as I get some free time. I work for a screen printing company doing customer service, and in my free time they also pay me to redesign one of the companies websites. That has taken up a lot of my free time for over a year now. That and I work security in the summer time at the Tweeter Center in Massachusetts. Janet sent me some recent pictures the other day. They are pictures from last Halloween. She dressed up as Amy Winehouse. It looks like she had a good time at the party she went to. When I get some time I will be uploading those shots to janetlavalley.com. Have you guys seen the shot she sent me of her costume from Halloween 2005? She was Robert Smith of The Cure.

Steve or Tim,
Oops, I missed the video on Stage6! I would be supremely grateful if we could figure out how to share this treasure. If somebody could send me a DVD, or the Divx file on a data DVD, I would be happy to compress it to MP4 for Steve to host on this site, or burn a few DVDs for the most enthusiastic Tribe fans out there. What do you say?
Thanks again to Steve for all your great work on the website, and for providing this focal point for Tribe fans to converge.

i missed this show on stage6 too But maybe i can help with conversion to smaller size. ".divx" files are simple video with avi header, so conversion is trivial. divx6 codec seems very good, but if you use x264, youll have approx same video quality in 50 to 75% size. best way is for me using virtualdub+x264vfw codec or avidemux, which have codecs included inside. bud either this or other way, i really want to see this show. nobody of you be so kind and put it on some other place (maybe rapidshare etc - "per partes" or torrent, i dont know)?

I tried to upload to Veoh but it took hours with no luck. Hmmm. Supposedly it can be uploaded using another process but I think it would be a similar scenerio to Youtube where you could watch it but not be able to download it.
So here's the scoop. I have enough space to host this for a period of time so that everyone who wants it can download it, but I cannot host it for very long, maybe 2 weeks. Then I will have to take it down. I am uploading this now, it's going to take me several hours to do it. Once it is completed I will post a link for everyone to download it who wants it. Again, I can only host it for a week or two so make sure that you grab it right away.
More to follow, stay tuned!
