All - I have read this board regularly for years but sadly am only now getting around to posting with some sad news. WFNX, which played such an important role in the history of Tribe, is being sold and likely reformatted. www.bizjournals.com/boston/news/2012/05/16/1017-wfnx-will-be-sold-to-clearchannel.htmlPerhaps this isn't entirely surprising, and like WBCN the station is something of a shadow of it's former self, but it's just another light from our collective past flickering out.

Sad news indeed. My radio was either on FNX or BCN during the 80's and 90's. Now it's Howard Stern and Sirius XM Radio, 24 hrs a day.
Who would have thought the music industry would be so different back then?

Do those corporate morons really believe they are going to "build listenership in Boston" with this acquisition and demolition?
Sad to see you go, Julie
